YCCS Staff and Interns enjoy summer event in Austin neighborhood

Our faculty and staff teams are continuously preparing for the upcoming school year as they immerse themselves in professional development, community events and natural wonders, all in preparation for engaging our students in innovative educational activities starting in September.  Here are some snapshots of our experiences:

Specialized Services social work team gathers for summer meeting

Our Specialized Services Staff gathered together to kick off the start of the new school year with a series of lively and informative discussions of their crucial role at YCCS.

Principals and Instructional Leaders convened at an in-house YCCS Principal Academy Leadership workshop facilitated by Dr. P.J. Caposey, author of such groundbreaking books as Making Evaluation Meaningful and Building a Culture of Support.

On August 21, YCCS staff led eclipse watching excursions for our students at various venues in the city. In addition, YCCS staff and students also participated in a variety of events in the communities in which our campuses are located over the summer, including Alderman Emma Mitts’ 37th Ward Gospel Fest, Westside Holistic Leadership Academy’s open house, and a host of other block club and faith-based activities throughout the 19 communities served by our campuses.
